Port Said is located in northeastern Egypt in a prime location at the northern entrance to the Suez Canal. It is bordered to the north by the Mediterranean Sea, to the east by Port Fouad in the Sinai Peninsula, to the south by the Ismailia Governorate, and to the west by three governorates: Damietta, Dakahlia, and Sharqia. Its geographical location has played a significant role in this, as it lies at the crossroads of historical routes between East and West, at the head of the Suez Canal.

Port Said is considered one of the most beautiful and richest governorates, abundant in fish, tourist attractions, and a pleasant climate. It boasts delicious cuisine, and its streets are renowned for their European architecture and tourist landmarks. Port Said is home to many distinctive landmarks, most notably Port Said Port, one of Egypt’s most important ports, and the Suez Canal Authority building, one of the city’s most important historical sites. Among its most important religious landmarks is the Abdul Rahman Lotfy Mosque, built in the Islamic style.
